Hello to our readers out there! Today's post is titled as 'Tips day' not because you'll be receiving tips everywhere you go but because Ms34ths are going to give you some very valuable tips on friendship in a very short while!

Tips on ... How to have a long-lasting friendship!

There are many qualities involved for a friendship to last and it is essential for you to know them. The following pointers will illustrate them.

For a friendship to last,

1. it has to be mutual. In other words, it is a deliberate step of both people to be in friendship.

2. trust is needed. When you trust your friend, you will share all your problems with them and they will help you make the situation better. However, many people claim to be one’s true friend. But when it comes to helping their friend out when they are in need, these people are nowhere to be found. A friend in need should be helped not just because there is no choice but because you are happy to help.

3. the element of having fun and laughter is crucial. Laughing together and cracking jokes is one of those pleasures that need to be present in relationships. People who understand each other will communicate at a deeper level. Unlike what many think, friendships that are mutual and deep can exist between people and all it takes is the willingness to do so.

4. commitment is required. You must invest time and energy in the relationship. For this to happen, you must have a positive attitude when it comes to friendship. It is not about perfection; it is about choosing to have a friendship that is true and different from the rest.

Therefore, do not forget that for a friendship to last, it will have to take collective effort from friends. Why not try true friendship and see the difference it will make in your life!

Tips on ... How not to be led astray by others!
.
1. Ask yourself if you are making the correct decision. Questions like: 'Will my action affect myself for the worse?' OR 'Is it a wise choice or am I giving in to peer pressure?' can help you to stay focused in life. Most importantly, ask God for His wisdom!
.
2. Do not allow anybody to make you deviate from your position. Never be afraid to speak up and let others know your boundaries. You may get a bit of teasing at first but most people respect the boundaries of others when they know what they are.
.
3. Peer pressure only works if you let it control you. But if you refuse to let it intimidate you, it will lose its power. The secret is to be assertive without becoming preachy or self-righteous.
.
4. Think of yourself as a leader and act accordingly. The more you see yourself in a leadership role the more comfortable you will feel asserting your own opinions and feelings. You do not have to be angry or confrontational but one person standing up for what is right is usually enough to inspire others to follow.
