The Survival of the Kindest... not the Fittest ;)
All right!
Today, we shall talk about how being kind can earn you a big bunch of friends.
As the saying by Catherine Ryan Hyde goes— “There’s no wrong way to perform an act of kindness.”
Firstly, I would like to say that kindness is just a matter of choice. It is entirely up to you whether you want to impact other people or not. You certainly need not perform great acts of kindness. Even if it is something minute, you certainly would have impacted someone else’s life. Examples of acts of kindness are: helping someone to carry his or her things if they are too heavy or helping to keep your classroom clean by sweeping the floor (at the right time of course!).
With that first move, you would have won some friends over already!
Moving on, it sure is true that being kind is a challenging task to carry out. …but, hey! All you have to do is to be true to yourself and to others and let God take control of every other thing we have in life!
Secondly, to be able to make friends with more people, we definitely have to attain the virtue of ‘give and take’. Now, what do I mean by this? It means to give whatever we can to help others and to accept whatever is offered to us. Offering other people help would strengthen bonds between people. By following this simple step, you would be able to befriend even more people than before!
Lastly, I feel that only those who are kind will benefit the most from being kind as at the end of the day, they would have more friends than those who are fit—in terms of work. This is because the fittest are only concerned about fulfilling their aim of getting to the highest rank in his/her workplace. When these people retire or get retrenched, they will find that life is boring as they have no friends to hang out with. From huge and powerful figures, they will find themselves diminishing in the society to become small and weak figures. Whereas for those who are always kind and have earned themselves many friends, they will find that life is very meaningful, even after they retire and enter their golden years.
Thus I can conclude that only the kindest will survive and not the fittest.
